A generic answer
Mark asks AI for a workout plan and gets back a long text that's correct but generic, written for anyone.
ROLE
Give AI a role
Bit shows the first trick: give it a role. Write: you are a coach for beginners who only have twenty minutes a day. The role helps AI pick the right knowledge and the right way to talk.
A SPECIFIC ROLE
The clearer the role, the better
The more specific the role, the better. "Expert" is vague. "Coach for office workers with back pain" is much clearer.
SYSTEM PROMPT
Rules for the whole conversation
The second trick: a system prompt, instructions that sit above the whole conversation. For example: answer in five lines at most, and ask me if information is missing. Every question after that, AI follows these rules.
WHERE
You have a system prompt too
You don't need to be a programmer to have a system prompt. The custom instructions in Settings, or a Project's instructions, are exactly that, as in videos 27 and 66.
NOTE
A role doesn't replace knowledge
Note: giving AI the role of a doctor doesn't make it a doctor. For important matters about health or money, still ask a real person.
This article is based on the video Give it a role, set the rules (role and system prompt) from the Mark học AI channel. Watch the video (in Vietnamese) to see the animations.
