What is few-shot prompting? Give examples so AI writes in the right tone

Asked AI for a caption and it came out stiff like an official letter? Don't describe the tone, give examples. Mark and Bit show you few-shot prompting.

AI writes in the wrong voice

Mark asks AI to write a caption for selling cakes, and it comes out stiff like a government notice. Bit says: don't describe the tone, give examples.

ZERO-SHOT

No examples: AI guesses

Asking without examples is called zero-shot. AI has to guess what you want, so it gives you an average, safe tone.

FEW-SHOT

Two or three examples is enough

Few-shot means giving a few sample examples. Paste two or three old captions you like, then write: write one more like these for the new cake. AI picks up the tone, the length, even how you use emoji.

WHY

AI is great at copying patterns

Because AI is a machine that guesses the next word, as in video 7. When it sees a repeated pattern, it follows that exact pattern.

TIP

Examples should be different

Tip: your examples should have different topics but the same tone. If all three are nearly identical, AI will copy them almost word for word.

USE IT FOR

Not just captions

This works for customer reply emails, sorting feedback into good and bad, or naming products.
