Now build one yourself
In the last six parts, we looked at AI products from the inside. Now let's build one ourselves, no coding needed.
THE PLAN
A sheet with five boxes
Start with a sheet of paper split into five boxes. Box one: who uses it? Box two: what one job does it help them with?
THE PLAN
The other three boxes
Box three: what private data does AI need to know? Box four: what must AI not do? Box five: how will you measure whether it's good?
EXAMPLE
A bakery's plan
Take a bakery: regular customers use it. It answers questions about cakes and opening hours. The data is the menu with prices. It never offers discounts on its own. And ten sample questions it must get right.
BUILD IT
Build it, no code needed
Then build it right inside an AI app you know: a custom GPT in ChatGPT, a Gem in Gemini, or a Project in Claude. Use boxes two and four as the instructions, then upload the documents from box three.
TEST IT
Try it with real people
Run the ten sample questions from box five. Then let three real people try it, and see what they ask that you never thought of.
RECAP
The whole series on one page
Engine, fuel, steering wheel, brakes, dashboard. Pick the right task, design for mistakes, measure, count the cost, learn from stumbles. That's the whole series, on one sheet of paper.
