Faking a grandchild's voice
Scammers can now use AI to fake a grandchild's voice and call grandparents asking for money urgently.
VOICE CLONE
A few seconds of voice is enough
Just a few seconds of voice taken from a video posted online is enough for AI to copy a voice that sounds very real.
PASSWORD
Set a family password
Pick a family password phrase together, and if a call asks for money urgently but can't say the phrase, hang up.
CALL BACK
Hang up and call back
Then call back the grandchild's usual number yourself, because scammers can't answer the family member's real phone.
