Make a family safe word
A secret phrase the whole family knows. If someone calls asking for money and can't say it, hang up. Pick something easy to remember but hard to guess: no pet names or birthdays.
Better to leave it blank and write it by hand: guests can read a card on the fridge. Never text the safe word or post it online; tell everyone in person over dinner.
