This time for real

In video 69 you only saw Claude in Chrome for a few seconds. This part does it for real in Chrome, from installation to Claude filling in a spreadsheet by itself.

SETUP

Install and connect your account

Go to the Claude in Chrome page on the Chrome Web Store, click Add to Chrome, then click Authorize to connect your Claude account. Note that the extension needs a paid plan, Pro or higher, and only runs on desktop Chrome.

SIDE PANEL

A panel beside the page

Click the Claude icon in the toolbar and a side panel opens on the right. Claude sees the page you have open, right next to the chat.

TASK 1 · READ

Summarize and compare

The first task is reading: open the Wikipedia article on artificial intelligence and a search page about machine learning, then ask Claude to summarize each in three points. It answers right in the side panel, with a comparison of how the two ideas differ in scope, method and type of problem.

TASK 2 · ACT

Claude clicks and types

The second task is acting: ask Claude to open markhocai.com, get the titles of the five newest videos, and fill them into the open Google Sheets file, one video per row. After 17 actions, the five titles are neatly in the sheet.

SMART

It even skips on its own

Better still, two videos on the page weren't marked as released yet, so Claude treated them as not out and skipped them, then told you why.

YOU STAY IN CONTROL

There's always a stop button

While Claude works, Chrome shows a bar saying Claude is controlling the browser, with a Stop Claude button so you can stop it at any time.

SAFETY

Two things you always do yourself

Unfamiliar pages can hide instructions you can't see, so only use Claude on pages you trust. Logging in to your bank and clicking pay are things you always do yourself.

PART 2

Next: Excel

Part 2: Claude right inside Excel, analyzing a sales file of more than 7,000 rows without you having to remember a single formula.
